Obesity is a chronic disease usually characterized by having too much body mass.Body fat itself is not a disease, but when you have too much extra fat it can change the way the body functions. A Body mass index(BMI) above 30 is usually the benchmark for obesity in adults. If the BMI is  40 or above, it is termed severe or morbid. These severe obesity is usually associated with health risk.

Treatment

  • Swap sugary snacks and drinks for fruit and vegetables
  • Take more walks and add a small activity like shopping intentionally, biking e.t.c
  • Cultivate overall wellness
  • Engage in behavioral therapy
  • Eat plenty of foods rich in fiber
  • Reduce the intake of processed food and refined carbohydrates 
  • Sleep more
